Section 32
Declaration of disaster-prone areas
: (1) If it is deemed necessary to declare a disaster-prone area due to the occurrence of a disaster of a serious nature in any part of Nepal, the Government of Nepal shall publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and declare the area as a disaster-prone area, specifying the boundaries and duration of such area.
(2) If the situation arising from the disaster cannot be controlled within the period specified in sub-section (1), the Government of Nepal may extend the period of such announcement by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(3) In accordance with sub-section (1) or (2), the information that the disaster-prone area has been declared must be published and broadcast through the national media.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1) and (2), if the situation as per sub-section (1) does not exist, the Government of Nepal may withdraw such declaration at any time by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(2) If the situation arising from the disaster cannot be controlled within the period specified in sub-section (1), the Government of Nepal may extend the period of such announcement by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(3) In accordance with sub-section (1) or (2), the information that the disaster-prone area has been declared must be published and broadcast through the national media.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1) and (2), if the situation as per sub-section (1) does not exist, the Government of Nepal may withdraw such declaration at any time by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
